Sarah Aldridge, Counsellor and Psychotherapist, East Finchley
Hello. As a therapist, I offer a space to explore together past and current difficulties to gain a better understanding and insight into why you might be feeling stuck or repeating difficult patterns. People come to therapy for different reasons:
Talking to a therapist in a safe, confidential space can allow issues to be thought about differently and worked through together.
I am an experienced therapist, and an accredited DIT
(Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy) Practitioner and trained in Couple Therapy for Depression. I am an accredited member of the BPC, the BACP and for supervision BAPPS.
The practice is in East Finchley. There is free parking and easy access to public transport. I also offer remote sessions, telephone or video.
I offer short-term and open-ended therapy. Please contact me if you would like to find out more or to arrange an initial meeting: Email: email@example.com Mobile: 07932 656906
I see therapy as the process that encourages people to understand themselves more deeply. The way in which our minds work is shaped largely by our early experiences, although this operates generally outside our conscious awareness.
In Counselling and Psychotherapy sessions you will have the space to express and reflect upon your feelings and concerns. This involves exploring early experience and developing a better understanding of unconscious motivations and repetitive patterns of relating. Being heard properly for the first time can often be an important first step in the process.
It may take some time but can lead to greater acceptance and self-confidence, which will enable you to lead a more productive and fulfilling life. You might be feeling overwhelmed and not wanting to handle difficulties without support; or be feeling confused, conflicted and just need help to understand things more clearly.

I offer supervision to individuals where we work together to develop a deeper understanding of your clients in a safe and confidential space – a time to openly explore and think about the work.
My original orientation is psychodynamic but through my experience with supervisees from integrative, psychodynamic and person-centred backgrounds, I can share a broad perspective in relation to how you work and your supervision needs.
My supervision experience includes NHS and private practice – some experienced and others just starting out in their practice. I have been working as a therapist for 11 years and have experience in the NHS, private and the voluntary sector. I have a Diploma in Psychodynamic Supervision from the Society Analytical Psychology and am a member of BAPPS – British Association for Psychoanalytic and Psychodynamic Supervision.
Supervision fees are negotiable, depending on regularity and caseload. Please contact me on 07932 656906 to discuss the possibility of supervision.
